The Extension Division of the institute conducted three days training programme on Awareness Generation of technologies developed by FRI from 24th to 26th October, 2017 at the Institute in which 35 participants including farmers, NGOs, Self Help Groups, students and representative of the industries participated.
The training was inaugurated by Dr. Savita, Director of the institute on 24th October, 2017. In her inaugural address Dr. Savita stated that the institute has developed many technologies which may be adopted by farmers in the form of agroforestry for their livelihood improvement and other stakeholders including cottage industries may also take benefit of these technologies. She told these all technologies are ecofriendly and cost effective as well. Dr. A. K. Pandey, Head extension Division welcomed the participants and gave bried outline of the training progarmme. He said that the aim of the training progarmme is to disseminate FRI technologies to the stakeholders. The Director of the institute, Dr. Savita in her address said that the institute is already in service of common people and anybody can interact with our team through our Vaniki Sahayata Kendra (Forestry Helpline) and get a solution of forestry related problems. Participants appreciated the training very much and said that such more programmes should be organized by the institute from time to time. They said that they would make a regular interaction and take technical guidance of scientists of the institute in adoption of technologies disseminated to them.
All members of the team including Dr. Charan Singh, Scientist-E, Dr. Devendra Kumar, Scientist-D, Shri Rambir Singh, Scientist-D, Shri Ajay Gulati Sr. Technical Officer, Shri P. K. Gupta, Scientist (Rtd.), Shri Vijay Kumar, ACF, Shri Ramesh Singh Head Clerk Shri Sachin, Forest Guard remain actively involved in all managerial activities during the training.
